Hi everyone.
havent been around this forum for a long time!
Whats happening? i had to re-register and noticed a few threads saying something about a crash?
Anyways..
My wife and i have just welcomed to the world our third little bundle, Riley.
He's a week old now. My daughter Ebony turns 2 tomorrow. She was born right at the start of the big downhill phase of my MMN. I was so weak in my arms and legs that i couldnt pick her up or bath her. I basically sat on the couch and my wife would giver her to me. If she squirmed too much i had to call my wife to come and get her because i didnt have the strength to hold on to her.
Now 2 years later with our new baby things have deffinately changed. Im playing in the backyard with the kids, picking them up and swinging them.
I can do everything with Riley i missed out on last time.
And recently i have just been able to break into a jog. Although very difficult looking and very short, its a jog. havent been able to do that in nearly 3 years! I'm getting IVIG 4 weekly now, and will soon be stepped out to 5 weekly. My neurologist says that if i keep going like this, this time next year they will try cold turkey and expect some good things.
Im getting pretty excited about it.
She also said that she has never seen one of her patients ever fully recover, but also has never seen a case like mine where it it is so severe in someone so young (21 when symptoms began) and then recover so well.
So fingers crossed.
Im always interested to see the difference in treatments etc since most of you guys are from america.
Thank god for me in Australia everything i receive is covered by the public system. I feel so lucky that i get $3500 AUS worth of treatment every month for nothing. Otherwise i would paralysed.
ANYWAY enough rambling for now.
look forward to everyones stories and progress once again!
