Some people believe that FM and Chronic Fatigue are the same disease at each end of the same medical spectrum. There are 18 trigger points and if at least 11-12 are "hot" that is typically the final conclusion to a diagnosis. There are a number of sub-set disease states attached to the FM/CFS label. If you have a person with myofacial trigger point pain.. they almost always have FM. The typical FM patient is hypotensive and had a sub-normal body temp. some believe that this is resulting from subclinical hypo thyroidism.

The theories are endless as are the proposed therapies. Personally.. I believe that some one much smarter than I will come down to the conclusion that it has to do with the endocrine system... maybe involving the hypothalmus.
