I have read where a number of patients have stated that they have gained weight while taking Cymbalta.

I have gained weight with taking Cymbalta or it could be from less activity.
I haven't and I have been on it for a couple of years. I take 150mg a day.

I think I gained weight more due to a lack of activity while on it.
Actually even though it helped with the pain - my mood and everything is better off of it. It made me agitated.

I have gained weight with the cymbalta which is the last thing I needed. The side effect that bothered me the most was getting overheated very easily. Like just dusting or running the sweeper.
So as of my last Dr.'s appointment I am weaning off it. I was on it for 2 years but the overheating was getting worse and with Summer coming I just couldn't take it anymore.
Best of luck and hope it works out for you.

I gained 25 lbs in six months with no increase in appetite. I eat a sensible diet. The ear ringing was also problematic so I went off of it. Best wishes.

Neckbaby - OMGosh, I get overheated SO EASILY and haven't had a clue what's causing it. Is this a known side-effect? Are you sure it's from the Cymbalta? That sure answers a lot of questions I've had. Thanks SO MUCH for this info!!
Paniac - I've gone off of other meds to see if they caused the weight gain, and Cymbalta is the last suspect. I gained about 25 pounds in 3 months and should NOT have gained this weight! Nothing else has changed much. thanks!

For what it is worth, when I discontinued the medication the weight came off with no trouble in about three months. I just continued to eat sensibly and moved. The first ten days after I discontinued it, I dropped six pounds. I did not diet.......it just dropped off. Best wishes.

Huh, I have gained also, but not sure if it's the cymbalta or being inactive.
About sweating so much I wonder I was thinking it was the methadone but now I just don't know what it is!!
It has worked really well though for my nerve pain.
