Will be 4-9. We're leaving on the 8th as he should be there at 5 am - and it's a 3 hour trip anyway.

He'll be splinted after surgery - goes for a cast on the 19th. Back for a different one in May and in June. If all goes well - it'll be removed in July. Then physical therapy starts.

Poor guy thinks he'll be able to work as a bagger at the commissary on the 13th of April. Riiiiight.

and he thinks he'll be able to play football in August. He'll be lucky to wrestle in October - as this takes at least 6 months to recover from. Hopefully him being young and healthy will quicken the recovery.

I had to email his dad and tell him I doubt he'll be in Texas with him this summer- I doubt the surgeon would allow another one to do what might be the final follow up. Plus tricare probably won't pay for John to have PT out of 'region'.

I found 3 civilian families (couldn't get help from the military ones) to take care of my other boys - so hubby and I will be a.l.o.n.e. in a hotel room. Hmmm that hasn't happened in over 10 yrs!

CF, I'm glad things are coming together for your son to get this surgery. Isn't it funny how kids think they can do anything? Now he thinks he can work as a bagger and play football, like you said, yeah right!!:) LOL!! I have 2 boys and they think they can just do it all, except when it comes to housework then they're just too tired.
So you and th hubby alone in a hotel room huh? Sounds like you could have alot of fun with that.:)

CF, I hope the surgery goes well and don't sell the boy short as he may very well be able to do what he plans. Afterall, he went how ong with it broken and noone knew. I have seen kids that age heal faster than you can believe.

I hope you and hubby can take advantage of a motel room that you have all to yourself:D .

Thanks.

Poor kid is out at his dad's right now for spring break. He's already called (he got there yesterday) BORED. His dad mentioned him not coming out for summer due to surgery follow ups and physical therapy. And his dad is already out of town. He used to take John with him.

Hopefully his stepmom will 'step' up and help him enjoy the time. Problem is, his siblings out there don't have spring break this week.
