Hi all...I just have to show off what I've been doing the last few days.
I sewed my grand daughter and her best freind outfits to wear to the Oregon Trail museum here in Oregon City....just a few miles from us.
I made bonnets too....am also working on matching outfits for the American Girls dolls.
I'm posting pics of 2 other outfits Iv'e made my grand daughter. I even embroidered the bows and Scotties on the plaid Christmas dress.
Anyone else love to sew?
I have one of those fancy sewing machines that also does embroidery.
Ive used it so much I've already had it reconditioned....and soon will need a new one. I've sewn hundreds of items these last few years....and I keep an immaculate house! Ha! LOL! NO way...I just hope the dust police dont show up here any time soon!
My cats love getting into my stuff too!
Oh the things gramma's do!
Blessings, cheryl
hi chery
the outfits and girls are too cute. ah to be able to still sew. it was such fun. i make promises and can't carry through. my grandaughter wanted a weastern shirt. i found a cute vest on sale at walmart. so i bought a decal of horse head. and first i washed the vest. found a funny looking thing in floor and threw it away. it was the metal top part of a button of course. so shirt is still not fixed. there is not a button like that and i don't sew on buttons well. it will probably go into give away box and someone that sews will get it. hope its someone who loves horses as much as our girls do!

Does Emma want Madi's gramma to sew her a western shirt?
Just send me the material...I don't need a pattern...let me know what size and I'll have it back to you in a few days! Long as I'm feeling like sewing, bring it on! I can even machine embroider a horse on it!
Here's more pics of shirts I've made....see...I can sew, but I sure can't cook! LOL! We all have different talants. Cheryl

Can you stand looking at more rags I've sewn?!?
If not...can always hit the back button!:D cheryl
I made all these for grandmonkey Madison.
I love to sew clothing for her....pretty soon its going to be stuff granny made, oh hide it before she makes me wear it! LOL!
I made the tiny clothing too. My freind does this clay figures. She's so talanted! I just can't beleive what she makes.
Aren't the Scotties darling?
Oh...the cake is made from box mix...angel food cake mixed with Kool-ade packets.
Just divide 3 cake mixes into 3 bowls. Add different Koolade packets to each one...then plop a mound into the angel food cake pans.
It only makes 2 cakes when you do it this way even tho you've made 3 mixes.
I use unsweetened Lime, Orange, Raspberry...or cherry.
For 4th of July cake...use Blueberry Kookade, Cherry and leave one section white. No need for frosting as it comes out very tasty....tart! mmmmm!
Everyone loves these cakes....nice for Easter...just take cocoanut, add green food coloring to it...mix in a bowl....add to under the cake.
Wonderful for pot lucks! yummy

oh my gosh ~
they are all so very pretty, you have a real talent there.
sorry for the intrusion, I just love to look at homemade clothes.
On of these days... I'm going to get the "round to it" & try to sew once again.
Until then I'll peak & admire others. Hope you had a good weekend.
It was beautiful here in Texas.

chery everything is beautiful. i used to be able to sew myself. i also made my daughter's dance costumes. and some detailed clogging dress. my daughter had quite a talent for that. i never could regular dance but my brother and his wife asked us to a square dancing class. and they told you where to put your feet and everything so i could do even ther most complicated dances until i injured my foot at a fire one day. i twisted it and it was so swollen up and purple, black, etc. danny left town the next day and i hobbled around and took care of two small kids instead of going to doctor. so it took forever to heal and soother things set in and dancing and clogging with taps were over. grandaughter found costumes and dresses. i promised a genie costume with hat but never came through for her. her other grandmother paid an outrageous price for one when she took her to disney world on spring breask. i doubt emilee will wear it much now that she's 7 but she got one at least. she also gives me a hard time about wearing dresses now! i'm afraid even on Easter she will NOT want to wear a dress, she had gotten that bad. we bought her two western shirts at branson and it is the same story. she wore one while up there but has not put them on since! so i thank you for thinking about her but i have just about decided to spend my money on myself. i need new fat clothes anyway, lol. truly i have gained some of my weight back. but nothing puts you in a mod for losing weight like new clothes, so i get to repeat that cycle of buying clothes every now and then. i have done that at least three times losing 50 to 80 pounds. if i ever get in the mood and do it again, i think i will try very hard to stay that way. and sister in law will STAY away and not sell bogus patches to hubby. i kick her fat arse outta the house as i will know what she is up to next time, lol. both her and her daughter is still same size and frequenting chiropractor and doctors more than the both of us put together still. so that was just a "mind" thing for her daughter for awhile. i love the neice but she is sorta looney if you know what i mean. but with a mother likes hers, i can see why. boy wrong time to get on that vent again. but it just reminds me more since hubby's heart is worse. that patch had a lot of caffeeine and two more ingredients that was not good for his heart. all the while i had lost the 80 pounds eating like hubby should have been and not had a decent tea at all and was drinking non caffinated coffe right along with him. i was so mad that hubby just went right along and trusted her . that was $75 dollars out of the window. i had tossed her a bootle of b12 and told her she should take that. she asked how much and i said it's free. you should take it though.
the cake does sound good. i have cake pans stored and all kinds of tips etc. but i loved doing my own thing also. just draw out on rice paper if it was complicated or free hand and i could make just about anything i wanted. and like you i did wedding cakes. my kids will probably donate all that stuff or throw into trash without realising how valuable it all is. but who cares anyway after i'm gone. hubby does not understand why i don't get rid of it now, to me it would be like i'm admitting i will never, never be able to do it again. and i probably won't but don't want to think that way!
cheryl post any and all pictures. i know i am not the only one that loves to see them. i shows just how talented you are and to me gives a great insight to you bubbly personality that makes you YOU!

so i thank you for thinking about her but i have just about decided to spend my money on myself. i need new fat clothes anyway, lol. truly i have gained some of my weight back. but nothing puts you in a mood for losing weight like new clothes, so i get to repeat that cycle of buying clothes every now and then. i have done that at least three times losing 50 to 80 pounds. if i ever get in the mood and do it again, i think i will try very hard to stay that way. and sister in law will STAY away and not sell bogus patches to hubby. i will kick her fat arse out if she shoows up trying that again!!
