Hi All,

Well, it wasn't the most pleasant thing, but I got through it and all looks good! Dr. Kwan said everythihng looked very good. No packing down of the coils and the annie hasn't enlarged. He was very pleased.

I was unable to use the angioseal however. He tried, but it didn't work, so that was extremely painful actually. He said there was a lot of scar tissue there than he tried to go through, but it didn't work...so I had to stay the extra four hours. Not nearly as painful, but LONG!

The rest of the procedure wasn't bad at all, especially compared to the last few seconds. LOL So it's not something to be afraid of for those newbies. It's the best way to have a look at what is going on up there.

I had a terrific nurse named Beth and they fed me a good meal, although it's terribly difficult to eat and drink when you aren't allowed to put your head up! I had such fear of choking that Dave had to chop up my Tylenol so I could take it via the side of my mouth with some ginger ale.

Anyway...I got a clean bill of health today. They said everything looked fine and Dave stuck with me during the entire recovery period, so that helped pass the time.

Thanks for you thoughts. This board has been such a godsend.

That's GREAT news! I'm sorry you had the regular seal, but it's over and done with!!!! Did Dr. Kwan tell you when he wants to do another angiogram? Are you clear until Oct. 08?

Rest well tonight, eat something sinful!!! Did you see that the National Institute of Health gave Dark chocolate the thumbs up! Get some Dark Dove bars and treat your arteries! Many, many times!:)

:D I am so happy you got a good bill of health!!!! I am so sorry you had a bad angioseal experiance!! I just got my 2nd one, he has moved up a little farther up the artery every time he goes in, so this seal is way up high! It hurt a little, but not as bad as getting my tooth pulled the other day!!! that hurt! I am glad it is all over for you and your doing great!! Congrats!! :D Take care and rest up and stay hydrated. Love Tricia

Thanks everyone. I know some of you have been there, so you understand the fear before hand and the relief, or sadness, afterwards when you get the results. The Dr. told me immediately after the procedure before the dressing was even put on, so I was glad I didn't have to wait anymore to find out.

I'm still very sore today mostly due to the strain of TRYING to get the angioseal in. I just got the follow-up call from the hospital and she said I'm doing what I should be today: resting and sitting, or laying back with my leg outstretched instead of bent..which does still hurt, but no bleeding and no pain in my leg or elsewhere, so I'm doing fine. I had just taken the dressing off because I knew they'd be calling when she did. I needed to see if the blood that as there under the clear dressing was just that....existing dried blood and not new blood. It was.

I'm drinking the 2-3 times more water the next couple of days because I was told to on my discharge orders. I have been lax in that department anyway, so it's always a good reminder.

Now I just need to take care of myself better. Eat better and get out there and exercise more. At least now I know I can safely get back into the swing of things. I'll try to start working full-time next week. I have worked up to 30 hours a week, but my disability runs out next week, so I best get a move on!

Thanks again to everyone. You're all in my thoughts as well and I hope your journey with recovery and surgeries continues to be good. We're all survivors!
