I went to the Rheumetologist (sp) yesterday and I do have fibromyalgia. It's almost a relief but I'm still not happy about it. She's increased one of my current meds and added another one and of course told me to exercise more. So I'l be off to the gym to start working out again.

I hope that this will decrease the pain I'm in and give me a bit more energy as I'm heartily sick of feeling like I do.

Hi Alli,

I just wanted to say, I hope you feel better soon. At one point in my life I didn't care if it had a name, I just wanted to get better and be normal again.

I hope exercising works out for you. Honestly, I haven't gotten back into it like I should. My thighs are a testimony to that!

Getting plenty of rest can also be beneficial. Good luck to you.

Take care,
nan

Hi Alli,
While it is of some comfort to know what the actual problem is, it certainly doesn't help to know that this condition is something you have to deal with for the duration!

Over the years, I've found that a regular program of swimming, 3x a week, helps not only with the chronic pain, but I'm tired enough to sleep well on those nights when I have been swimming during the day. Going more often, seems to deplete my energy levels so I don't have the motivation to do other things that I enjoy. Cheerio.
