I was diagnosed with ACM 9 years ago and the Neurosurgeon did surgery within 2 months of my diagnosis. After a long recovery period I was almost symptom free for about 9 years, until about 2 weeks ago. I have been having problems with severe leg cramps, dizziness and a tingling sensation around the area of my scar. Also recently I have been having problems with severe mood swings. The one symtom that has been persistant is the pins and needles in my arms, which I put down to the fact that I have carpul tunnel syndrome.
Since the time I had my surgery I have divorced my husband and no longer have health insurance. My Neurosurgeon retired and the new Neurosurgeon, wont even see me unless I pay cash up front.
When I was first diagnosed, I didnt do much research. I was just glad that after years of being bounced from one type of med to another for my headaches that they had finally found the problem. I was not aware of the extent of this disease and the fact that symptoms can return even after a successful surgery.
Please I am getting desperate, I am scared to drive my kids anywhere as when I turn my head I feel I could pass out.
