Hi All...

Here is one you'll find unique. Back in 2002 after I acquired CPM, (Central Pontine Myelinolysis) since my diagnosis was shall we say missed, one of the immediate signs of a problem was my balance. I suffered a severe fall to my knee and we have babied it year by year.

This last Monday, through several communications all day with different specialist, it was decided that I would have a Muscular Skeletal Evaluation to help make a decision which way to go with this. Every year since the fall, both when the weather is bad and about three to four times a year I suffer from knee and leg pain.

Hope your ready for this. Monday, just finishing all the calls for hours, I stand up from my chair, take two steps followed by shrieking scream as I reached to the counter to break a possible fall. Yes, the same knee but this time off to the ER without hesitation. Have a new word for my research again. A "Torn Meniscus," (Cartilage) the kind doctor relayed to me.

What was the first thought that came to mind? Who Will I Even Trust To Walk Franky Three Times A Day. Now that is a real issue! When God watches out for you its not hard to pick up on it. The only time previously I planned to leave Franky (One night and two days) was in 2005 when I was blessed to have the opportunity to be evaluated in regard to my CPM symptoms at Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.

As the story goes, back when I went to the evaluation we had located a very kind young lady who I knew has a keen love for animal pets. So, not knowing exactly what I need to do that's best for Franky which will natually revert back to me one way or another. As many know, I just relocated after thirty away from now back at my orriginal home. I called the Vet Office I always used when visiting which now will take care of Franky when needed. After chatting with a nice lady there, she gave me a number of a couple sisters first who work together that walks her own dog when needed.

I call her voice mail, leave the message and about a half hour later I get her return call. It took all of a few seconds to realize, "It was the same youg lady who now two years later has twelve people working for her. "What A Relief." Well, with this great news I myself am having a hard time with it but knowing Franky is is in GREAT hands sure helps. Franky leaving me three times a day has taken a bigger toll on me than what I do to him when I leave for a couple hours to doo and errand or my volunteer assistance at the hospital. Just call me selfish! ;)

Breeze, I first pictured Franky was injured & had to have a special doggie walker!

Now, I'm distressed to hear this has happened to YOU! I've been forced to use a walker a couple of times myself, takes some getting used to! I'm just sooooo glad that you didn't fall & bang up that precious brain of yours!

Hopefully this will be a temporary thing, get the knee healed up & look forward to walks with Franky again this spring??

You're NOT selfish, Franky is your buddy & you just don't want to miss out on the fun times together. Focus on how much he'll love ya when he returns from his walks......and this is great that you have someone you can trust & rely on to walk him. So-as you always say, look to the positive!

And keep in mind you can always train him to "walker walk", just attach his leash to the walker-new challenge! I've seen this with dogs on TV. New career, he can be a true service dog (which he might already be??).

Good luck & keep us posted!

sorry to hear of your physical troubles but ever so glad you have the answer to the mental ones with what to do for your pet.

we are facing a problem ourselves. the last older owner of our permanent camping spot died last october. we will need to ask if we can be allowed to bring our dog. i'm afraid they are going to be just the same and worried they will be sued if our dog harms someone. people had to move when the old man heard that one. ah why couldn't everyone be animal lovers! and my dog just now loves being a house dog. i never can get everything all worked out smoothly it seems but i'm hopeful anyhow!

i'm hoping for a sppedy recovery for you with that knee. it is not shelfish i think but just a good caring person. a person like those wonderful animals deserve.

Hey Franky, how do you like your new humans that are taking you for walks nowadays? Are you giving Breeze lots more cuddles & kisses? Is Breeze in pain now? Is he learning to use the walker without running over you?

Hope you have smooth floors cause walkers are kinda tricky! I'm momma to Rags, he's never seen my walker, bet he would find it pretty weird! I have to watch out that he doesn't step on my feet all the time, he's alot bigger than you & still thinks he's a puppy!

You take good-make that extra good-care of Breeze now OK?
