I've been an Ebayer since 1999. Within the last year, I have purchased a lot of things on Ebay. In the past month I learned a lot of things.

For instance, did you know you should have separate IDs for buying and selling. Also, feedback on Ebay is a super hot topic. IMHO, the feedback system needs to be overhauled cause it's definitely broken the way it is. Retaliatory feedback runs rampant on Ebay and Ebay will virtually do nothing to prevent it. Short of a court order, a buyer and seller can say just about anything in the feedback comment and Ebay will not lift a finger to prevent it. :(

I've learned you should never purchase anything unless the seller accepts Paypal. If a buyer chooses to purchase with a money order or check, there's vitually no protection if the sale goes sour. However, if the item is tangible, you are protected through Paypal and will in all likelihood recoup your costs.

I've learned about excessive shipping costs and what to do should you encounter a seller who is doing this.

There's a wealth of information being shared in the forums on Ebay and most members will direct a poster to a link to back up an answer. :D

Hi All, I've Been On Brain Talk For About 3 Years, usually On The Stroke Website. I Have Used E-bay For Many More Years Than That. I Just Found This And I'm Delighted. I Enjoyed Reading The Above Oist Because Some Of The Points I Did Not Know. I've Never Sold Because My Mobility Issues Have Been A Deterrent.
What I Can Say About Buying Is That If A Seller Offers An Item The Language Of The Ad Is A Good Indication Of Whether The Seller Is An Expert In That Area Or Just Wants To Get Rid Of It. Kathy
