Hi all:
I don't post often, but do hope you are all well.
I rear-ended someone today on the way to work. This little Saab was motoring down a major street in town and I thought he was going to maintain his speed right through an amber light. He didn't and the rest is history. Neither of us were injured thankfully. The only visible damage to his car was about a 3 inch scratch, however, my whole front end will likely need to be replaced. I got the ticket, he went on his way to wherever, I dealt w/ insurance and the auto body and got a ride to work......monday mornings blow!
Saab v. Toyota Saab won hands down!
I'm not one to get hung up over CP, but driving, as would be expected, seems to lay those limitations I've learned to adapt and compensate for over the yrs right in front of my face. Obviously, I was deemed safe enough to get a license in this overcrowded state, but I sometimes wonder if I am less safe than your average non-disabled driver. I've only been driving for about 3 yrs on a regular basis, so statistically i suppose I am not doing too bad.... as I sat in the auto shop on hold w/ geico, thoughts of resigning myself to the para transit system for life crossed my mind. People have told me it happens to everyone....'tis true.... but i still find myself saying you spastic idiot.
Sorry.. i needed to vent
N.B. Before the officer left this guy claimed to have a backache for which he declined to medical attention. When I heard the officer say that, I thought to myself, I'll take his backache over my aches any day :p I try to find humor in situations whenever possible.....today that little bit made me chuckle.
