View Full Version : Could this result from Copaxone?

I was diagnosed with RRMS in '98. Have been on Copaxone since. Night before last...my right foot became swollen and very painful especially my big toe. Yesterday, our Medical Dept. took a look at my foot and thought it might be gout. Last night...my foot became very swollen, red, and hot. I developed a fever, chills, and noticed that my right knee was also swollen. I also had pain in my wrists, back of my neck and a headache. I got the results of the bloodwork that our Medical Dept ran.....and its not gout.

Today...I am tired...but my foot is better....not as swollen. I'm just glad that whatever it was....is better.

Has anyone else had something similar? Wonder what it could have been....could it have been a side-effect from the Copaxone? The med. hasn't ever really bothered me.

By the way......some of you may remember me as Crazy Lady......in the old forum.

Hi Pepley (formerly Crazy Lady :)),

The prescribing information (http://www.copaxone.com/ContentRoot/miscellaneous/pdfs/0102Gweb.pdf) for Copaxone lists chills, fever, and flu syndrome as slightly more common in Copaxone patients than in placebo patients (2% risk), and peripheral edema, edema, and arthralgia as somewhat more common in Copaxone patients than placebo patients.

So I think it is possible. Glad the problem seems to be improving.
