We took Carly to Shriners today for a follow up. Luckily Dr. Mack is still agreeing to re-do the right hip when she stops growing. That way NO BODY CAST. He isn't promising, but he will try. Since she doesn't walk, we should be able to do it without the cast.

She weighted 63 lbs! That is a 7 lbs gain since last September/October. I am so thrilled! She is 4'9" tall. When she started growth hormone she weighed 43 lbs and that was 2 1/2 years ago. Not too fast -which is good. But, still not into puberty (fully) yet.

She also got these boots for her feet to keep her from blistering her skin at the ankle bone. They are purple camoflague - great for hiding in eggplant patches. They are lighter than the AFOs since they just go above the ankle. We'll see how she scoots in them today.

Good news - I'll take it.

Great news! Also, Just wanted to share that Sarah had bilateral hip surgery 5 years ago and did not have a body cast. It was much better-i could clean her skin everyday, watch for skin breakdown, etc.

Sounds really good!! Hope the boots work well for her and the surgery can help with that hip!
