Hi

I have not posed here, but I have a medication question. I have hydrocephalus and was prescribed diamox 1000 mg twice a day. I started to feel excesively tired and like I could not move very well. I had blood work done today and my electrolytes were all out of wack. My potassium was low, my CO2 was high and my sodium was high. No one is really monitoring my bloodwork while on Diamox. The neurosurgeon begrudgingly sent me for a chemistry panel, but does anyone know if this is dangerous. Any input or experiences would be great. Thanks

That explains Diamox side effects.

Low potassium can either be treated by your doctor with potassium
supplements, or you need to increase potassium containing foods into
your diet.

here is a list of high potassium containing foods:

Typically sodium goes down on this drug..since it is a diuretic. The elevated
sodium is puzzling.
