Good GF Gravy, it's March!!! I should've known better, since yesterday was Peg's b-day.
I swear I'm living in a Time Accelerator. I said last night "Gosh, it's Friday again tomorrow". I'm not complaining...but Holy Cow! :D
Normally I have to think about stuff to put in here, since this snuck up on me, I can't think of anything to say. :) I'm sure something will come to me later. Actually, I think I'm still sleeping [I just got up].
Edit: I know something I can put in here. Last Wednesday [a week ago] night I got to spend in the hospital. Fun! I've been having chest pains since December. I had been ignoring them hoping they'd go away. In the middle Ash Wed. Church service I got hot and prickly all over, sweaty, very woozy and felt I was going to pass out. This scared me enough to leave church and go to the ER. After blood work that night, a day of testing on Thursday, they deemed my heart OK.
How 'bout the rest of y'all ~ fall out for Roll Call!
For those of you just tuning in, Roll Call is chance to introduce yourself, check-in and let everyone know how you're doing, what you're up to, to touch base...something, anything, just let us know you're still around :)

Morning Al!:D Wakey, wakey!!!!!:p
I am going for a nerve conduction test this morning, trying to find out if I have pinched nerves causing my headaches, neck and shoulder pain, terrible tinnitus, and that off balance feeling I have been having so often.
Had my eyes examined the other day and the doc told me to get my cholesterol checked, he says once he can see cholesterol in your eyes, you have it for life.:( So, I also had blood drawn for that and thyroid Wednesday night. At least my eyes are not much worse--I can still see your face Al, just can't read the laugh lines!:D
March--18 days to spring. YEHA!!!! So tired of winter and our winter has been fairly mild here. I feel for those of you who have been hit repeatedly with snow, and deep snow too. The most we had at one time all winter was 2". Lots of rain though and cold, even some ice.
We are all doing well. Michael has added a dx to his long and growing list - Central Auditory Processing Disorder. So we are dealing with the treatments for that. The good thing is his eyes and hearing are all okay and he is doing well!
Little Miss Ellie is doing great on a GF diet. She is growing like a weed and has shot up 2 clothing sizes since starting the diet!!!! Her constipation has totally 'cleared' up and she hasn't had laxatives for a few months now.
All is well here!
I forgot to add I ordered Ellie a booster seat - finally! She's almost 5 and I am so happy to get her out of the 'little kid' car seat. It is so bulky and the booster is nice and slim even though it is a high back. She's so excited! Me too, I never thought this day would come.

Where did February go? I feel like we've spent the month selling Girl Scout cookies (yes, the girls and I have been selling that glutenous gook:o), and it's not over yet. Samantha had her first cookie booth last weekend, and Claire's is this weekend (they're in separate troops). And then they each have one more booth after that.
We've also been busy with science projects, which are mandatory in our school district. Samantha was comparing the energy in nuts, by burning them underneath a can of water to see which type nut raised the temperature the most. (It was a really neat experiment!) Claire chose comparing which grows faster, sugar crystals or salt crystals. We had a few false starts (couldn't get *any* salt crystals to grow), so now now that we've gotten the kinks worked out we're ready to repeat it ad nauseum.
Tom is having major constipation. After much thought, I think it's related to die-off. (You know me and my theories.) The timing fits in with the increase in acidopholus and the addition of S. Boullardi.
Guess that's it for us. Looking forward to catching up with the rest of you.

I know February is a short month but it flew by way too fast.
All is well in Little Rock. I have been trying to figure out if another food is contributing to my tinnitus. Tinnitus is about the only symptom I had that did not improve or disappear with a GF diet. I am now gluten, dairy, egg, yeast, soy free and the ringing continues. I went off rice for a while and the noise seemed to lessen. I will try that again test again.
Trees are becomeing pink clouds, daffodils are blooming, it is Spring. With Spring comes severe weather. My heart goes out to the people who have been in the path of tornados. I wish all a quiet and lovely Spring.

February blew by, and it seems as I didn't get much accomplished. The month started out with running around for John's dad's estate affairs, (his dad died at the end of December from a very aggressive leukemia).
I had a really bad bronchitis and cold the first week of February - reminded me of the gunk that I used to suction out of trach patients, and thankfully antibiotics cleared it up, but played havoc with my GI tract.
In mid- month, John needed arthroscopy, and so time was spent at the doctor's and at outpatient surgery.
The third week of February found me driving across the state to be with my son while he was cardioverted for a persistent atrial flutter which would not respond to medication. Thankfully he converted after the first shock.
The end of February found me across the state again to attend the funeral of a dear friend's father-in-law.
Now I am trying to catch up, do my workouts, and deal with the snow which is very plentiful - the most snow that we have had up here in the last 10 years.
Thanks to everyone for all the posts.

Hi I am new here. It was suggested that I check out this forum as I have recently put my daughter on the GARD diet for a seizure disorder. She is 15 and it showed its nasty head last year. We have just finished her third week, and she doesn't think it is half bad. We are lucky to have an excellent Whole Foods store near us. Makes the pickins rather interesting.
We are having her checked next week for celiac disease, but knowing the tests sometimes are inconclusive is rather discouraging. She is also being tested for other possible causes, but knowing that this diet is healthy (healthier than she ever ate before) and easy, it certainly gives us a sense of power over the occasional bad moments.
I look forward to sharing and finding support here.

Hi, I've been reading braintalk on and off for a year but have never formally introduced myself. I was diagnosed w/ DH almost 6 years ago. I am married and have 4 children who are also gluten sensitive, ages 9-16. I live in Richmond, Virginia.
Hi everyone! Especially nice to hear from Robin and annabelletoo!
Well, March came in with the flu for me. At least I think it was the flu because the fever hung on for five days for both my husband and I. Thankfully, my symptoms weren't too severe, but my husband had it a little worse.
My daughter J was home 3 1/2 days last week with a stomach thing... symptoms were rather like a glutening... although apparently a stomach flu is also going around. She never vomitted (but felt like it)... just D and nausea and headache and leg ache and lethargy. (See... sounds like glutening! but matches very closely with symptoms of a friend.) She had a low fever just one of the days in the middle. She didn't want to eat, and felt sick whenever she did eat. I'm sure she lost some weight, but I don't even want to know. I'll just stuff her for a week to try and make it back. Now, I just hope she doesn't get what we had. Frankly, I'm incredibly surprised she hasn't come down with it yet.
And the weather has been rather miserable for the last couple of weeks, although most Wisconsinites have had it far worse. We're south and had more rain... still messy and icky when mixed with snow.. and HEAVIER to shovel! So... I'm looking forward to Spring!

Okay... it's mid-march and I've finally got a bit of time for current events.
Part of why I've not been posting in the roll call thread is because we're all seeming to do very well (knock on wood).:)
I've got some organic seeds on order, am working on fixing my little greenhouse that got shmucked with the winter winds and am trying to get a few home renos. done before the great whether gets here and I won't want to be inside anymore. ;)
Also, I've had a couple of books in the works for years that I've not been very good about getting done. So, nose to the grindstone, I've been writing like a fool and now the one book has blossomed into a series. It's like the house renos.... you can never just do one thing at a time. :D
So, we're incredibly busy these days and just getting busier. Life is good though and I've no reason to complain about anything... except the fact that there are just not enough hours in the day for me.
Boy, I really roll my eyes a lot! ... even when I write. :D
