Hi my name is Jennifer, when I was born I weighed 2lbs 2ozs, and there was fluid on my brain. The doctors had to put a shunt in. At that point my biological mother wanted to give me up for adoption, because she was unstable and couldn't take care of me, and all of my medical needs. So when the doctors finally found out what was wrong with me, they determined that it was congenital hydrocephalus. Congenital meaning present at birth. Hydrocephalus meaning water on the brain. So, not knowing whether I would live or be a vegetable, my biological mother gave me over to her sister. It was a struggle for me, I wouldn't eat, the longer I didn't eat the longer I stayed in the hospital. I am biracial and my parents are white. When I got to come home I was welcomed by my father 2 brothers, my mom and dad had. There belief in the LORD drove them to do this for me. They told my parents I would not go to school or be able to do anything on my own. By the grace of GOD, I went to an early headstart program, Kindergarten, 1st grade and graduated High School, by getting extra help. I am now a freshman at a community college. I hope my story can help other people, see what you can do when you do things through Jesus.
