Has anyone tried the duel cleanse from a homeopathic store? I am planning on trying out a cleanse and wonder if anyone else has tried it and had any luck with it? I especially was interested out of worry about my liver with the amount of meds I put through it from the conditions I have....

I have no information about any type of "cleansing product," other than what I use to clean house!

Basically, your liver and kidneys are the two organs that do most of the work in keeping your body free of chemicals and toxins that are part of it's metabolism. Drinking water to help your kidneys, and avoiding mistreatment of your liver by requiring it to metabolize large quantities of alcohol are the only things I could recommend.

If you are concerned about how medication effects your liver, your doctor can order basic laboratory testing to check. Cheerio.

I've always been suspicious of products that claim to "cleanse" the system - our bodies are made to cleanse themselves if we eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of pure water and avoid over-use of certain drugs and alcohol

Some fasts and cleansing programs can actually be harmful

you might want to talk to your doctor before spending money on this system.

good luck

Thanks Ladies....

Actually there is a doctor here in GA that advises the use of a cleanse if you use a lot of meds....She is an MD as well as a bariatric doctor.....She has experience with her own weight loss, having lost 100 pounds 15 years ago....

I see my doc on Tuesday I will ask her about it...I am a little concerned about my body being somewhat toxic with the meds I take for the various conditions I have.....

I do drink a lot of water already....Plus I have cut out my soda pop, it was really bad for my diabetes.....

I have noticed an issue lately with pain in the area of my kidneys that is unusual even for my pain issues.....And I do not drink alcohol at all because I am diabetic and not thrilled with the idea of a hypoglycemic coma event....plus I don't get the same effects from it anymore, mostly I get a headache and sick from alcohol.....I literally have had one 10 ounce beer in 2 years.....

Good Morning Fayelle,

I tried a product like this from a health food store near my house. I talked it over with my doctor and she was open to try it.
I purchased it and used it for quite a while. I really could not tell the difference if it worked or not. My body was the same and so was my illness. I stopped taking it and started to drink more water. Water is the best for keeping your body healthy.

Now I try not to take too many meds. I'm on one pain med without any asprin or tylonol in it. If I have to take more meds I drink more water.

Good luck and let us know how it goes if you use the product.

Well I am not sure how it is working yet...Other than to say it is cleaning something out.....I certainly am not having the constipation part of the IBS these days hehe....

But I have also felt less bloated and less desire for sweets...Not sure if that is related or not......It's been about 4 days now....So far no bad side effects, but I am not sure about whether or not it is making a significant difference either.....

hello! I live in France and a a homeopath has advised me to "clean" my body because she states that people with FMS tend to stock the toxins and that this could be a reason for all the pain. I started one month ago, don't feel any difference yet but she told me to be very patient. I like the idea and will continue to see what happens. I refuse to take any more medication, I've received too many and they wouldn't help anyway. Here in France, FMS isn't accepted, doctors heard about it but look at me as if I came from another planet and try to get rid of me because I am a case they cannot help! So the homeopath is the only doctor who supports me . What have I got to loose by doing this!;)

Its better to go to a Homeopathy doctor. I have had great success with it helping internal bleeding I have. But I would have never gotten the right one for me if a doctor hadnt interviewed me.

Homeopathy cant do you much good unless you get the right remedy for you and your issues.

At least read a homeopathy book or info and choose a remedy for your problems. A general "cleanse" isnt what homeopathy was ever intended for its just become more commercial.

When homeopathy works, it works right away...... And as I said its stopped internal bleeding I have, it is very powerful when you get the right remedy for you.

I was given belladonna remedy when I was 22 years old. It stopped the near constant internal bleeding I suffered. And I didnt believe it would work at all. I was symptom free for 7 years. When it started tohappen again I recently went back to that homeopath after I had surgery which helped but still didnt stop it. I told her I remembered her giving me Belladonna, so she gave it to me again. I have made it through two months without a problem which I havent been able to do in over two years!

I was reading about Belladonna homeopathy and I almost peed my pants when it said
"craves lemonade"
I drink tons and tons of lemonade. It is my main drink. so besides not only fitting my symptoms in many ways, the book knows I drink lemonade! lol Homeopathy is a very specific art and requires a knowledgable doctor.

You need a remedy chosen for you and I believe in the classical way, ONE DOSE. That is what worked miracles for me. However, I do believe there are situations where more then one dose can be required. but there is constitutional remedies which only require one dose.

Homeopathy is more for cures. Herbs are for cleanse.

Interesting concepts!

I stopped the cleanse prematurely because my dad dropped into a 5 day vegetative state and we started his death watch.....With the stress I was lucky to remember to eat let alone anything else so I stopped the cleanse....

I am pondering seeing a bariatric doc/ homeopathic doc who is in the area in order to get my body into some sort of stasis rather than a feeling of decline....

My weight is climbing, my symptoms are returning (I think the additional weight might need additional meds for the thyroid) and I am becoming more despondant with the problems.....

Perhaps homeopathy might be a better answer for the long term....

I adore my doctor she is great but I am not sure traditional medicine is my answer.....Although I wont ever do chiropractic again because I am afraid of him not understanding the system he was messing with.....

I am also afraid that traditional medicine is missing a big peice of my puzzle since so many people in my family are suffering endocrine problems....

I wish I understood more about my own body.....

:( Sorry to hear about your Dad . detoxing is hard at the best of times, it has it's good points ,but you should talk to someone who knows what your health issues are . I have used a 10 day DETOX plan many times it can be extreamly good if done propperly but it can be bad if not done right . The toxins you are trying to rid your body of are stored in the body fat , and when you detox you will loose weight and flood the body with the stored chemicals ,you are bound to feel worse before you feel better so when you detox you will have to take it easy . I do a detox every 4-6 months ,and I should do it more often ,that way I would not have to do the long detox . Take care (((HUGS))) Snap

Emily made some excellent points about homeopathy. I have studied homeopathy for many years and don't believe this is true homeopathic healing. The word homeopathic gets used for more things than it may apply to in the strict definition of the word. I think that the term is being used in a way that makes it sound like it is homeopathic but is probably only using some substance that has been diluted (according to homeopathic dilution techniques).

I agree that western medicine doctors do not look at the big picture.

There are ways to detox your body. The Hubbard method was used on a large group of people, I think, back in the 1960s in Michigan. There was an accident where PCBs or similiar chemicals were accidentily mixed into some animal feed and the people in this farm community were subsequently contaminated too. The Hubbard method uses high doses of niacin with fasting, sauna and exercising. Of course this is something you can't do yourself, but I mention that there are ways of detoxing. And this accident has been documented as being one test case use of the Hubbard method.

Cysteine is an amino acid that contains sulfur. Sulfur is one way that the liver gets rid of toxins. Cysteine is only one sulfur containing amino acid, but for detox purposes it has an excellent track record. Cysteine is the main amino acid recommended to supplement when glutathione (GSH) is low. Cysteine is actually useful for chemotherapy patients.

Making sure your liver is as healthy as can be is one way to ensure that your body is not loaded up with toxins. Some people like to try using some bentinite to clean out debris from your GI tract. This is pretty harmless too, but can help attract unwanted debris in the GI tract.

Sometimes it can help to make sure you do all the little things, eating more fiber, keeping your nutrition up, staying hydrated, working out (sweating out toxins) and keeping the stress to managable level (maybe hard with what you are going through now) or trying to maintain a healthy attitude.

Complimentary medicine does have some appeal that western medicine seems to be lacking; but, sometimes the complimentary methods are not so tried and tested as they may need to be. Any type of detoxing should be considered carefully before you try it. Always ask the doctor lots and lots of questions before you commit to some new type of therapy.

Has anyone tried the 7 Day Miracle Cleanse? I read about it on 7DMC.com and it seems interesting.
