Anyone have a feeling of a syrinx "popping" and then having a massive headache? I have had this experience 3 times now within the last month. Just wanted to know if I am the only one with this experience.
Thanks.

Hi Robert. (I couldn’t remember your real name on the hydro chatroom!)
I asked one of the moderators of Chiari Connection International if it also is for tethered cord. (for someone else) This is her reply!
------------------------------------------
It sure is. They have recently discovered how
often there is a connection to TC and CM (Chiari/Arnold Chiari Syndrome) and this is pretty much a "hot topic":.

me:
I just joined a week ago & there’s a “mixed bag”;
Chiari, syrinx, hydro, tethered cord…
This might be just what you’re looking for!
Chiari Connection International seems VERY active!
It is relatively new.

Robert, what happened to your abdominal problems? You were going to have surgery, then the hospital was closed due to maybe the Norwalk? virus?
Also, re your question at the top, do you feel any better after (long time after) the "pop" ? I was thinking if it did pop open & released some fluid, in the long run, you might get some relief.

The hospital is still having issues with the Norwalk virus. Also, the wait times in New Brunswick are horrible, as they are across the country. Personally, I believe the doctor is waiting until the cold and flu season has passed before operating on me because he doesn't want to be responsible if I get an infection like I got in 2001, and in the case I agree with him. I'd rather wait. It's painful but manageable.

The syrinx pain did subside some. I still feel a pain there similar to someone twisting their fist back and forth into my spine and the pain in my neck and eyes is still substantial but bearable. Good thing I have a high pain tolerance.

Good thing I have a high pain tolerance.
I'll say!!!
You make me feel like a baby! I have low pain tolerance. I hope I manage to increase it somehow!
I admire your staying power. But then what choice do you have?
Maybe working keeps your mind off your pain? But it also probably increases it :(
You're a tough one!!
Thinking of you,
Cathy
