Hi,
Mom had a third ventric and a cyst drained last Thursday. It's been slow going, she started out ok and the 2 days ago she started to act differently so I expressed my concern and they did another CT and her ventricles were larger so they decided to also turn her programmable shunt so it would drain more, and also take her off of the morphine. She is a new woman, she talks and reads and knows where she is and the date and time. I haven't seen my mom like this in months. She is having some difficulty with walking, but we just got the word today that she will be discharged to the rehab unit of the hospital, which has a floor just specific to neuro patients. I truly didn't know if she would really get back to her old self, but she's as feisty as ever(flirting with the residents) We have truly been blessed. She still has a ways to go but at least ther's a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to all for your support through everything!
